What We're Looking For

  • A composer with experience or interest in creating music for dance, particularly in environments where accessibility matters.
  • Someone who can collaborate with performers to integrate visual, spatial, and sensory considerations.
  • An ability to adapt compositions so they work well for both trained dancers and audience members with sensory or mobility differences.

Why This Matters

Art and performance should be for everyone. This project aims to set a higher standard for genuine accessibility. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience and participate in the arts, regardless of their abilities or circumstances.

How to Apply

If you're ready to compose something meaningful, share your portfolio and approach to accessible composition. We're looking for creative minds who understand that great art is inclusive art. Please send your application with examples of your work and a brief statement about your approach to accessible performance.

Disabled parking in Cleveleys is a problem, they have a few disabled spaces, but they tend to be full most of the day. Once you find a parking place, access to the town of Cleveleys is excellent. Some repairs needed on the pavement but the main parade is wide enough to find a smooth route. Plenty of drop curbs and all shops have gentle incline or flat access. Superdrug is easy access with a wide automated swing door. Most aisles are accessible but not wide enough to allow other shoppers to pass if a wheelchair user is down them. Two aisles have pillars preventing wheelchair access an some aisles have a very very tight turning point at the ends, impossible to use for larger wheelchairs. The staff are quite good, most addressed me two addressed my carer and one tutted when I asked her if she could move her stock trolley so I could pass. Not the shops fault, just ignorance on the part of the employee. The checkout counter was high, far too high for a wheelchair user but the assistants were happy to come round and lift the basket onto the counter. In general quite good for wheelchair users but could be improved. Many shelves are too high for wheelchair users to reach.
